Several new things for you

Hey, everyone!

It’s been extremely busy the past few weeks, but I wanted to let you know what has been going on lately:

First, The Ace of Clubs: Part 3 of the Red Dog Conspiracy is out and in stores!

It’s available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover formats.

You may have to ask them to order it for you in brick and mortar bookstores, but it should be everywhere else.

I hope you enjoy it!

Second, I’ve put all four of the books that are out so far into a box set for you on Kindle!

I’m calling it Red Dog Conspiracy, Act 1: A Noir Future Steampunk Crime Family Saga.

If you haven’t read the series yet, this is a great way to get caught up, at 50% of the price if you would have bought each book individually.

Here’s the link to get your copy.

Third, I’ve written a prequel to the Red Dog Conspiracy called “Vulnerable,” which tells how Eleanora Bryce and her sons got to Bridges in the first place.

It’s in the End of Days dystopian anthology, which is free on Kindle Unlimited through October 31st.

Right now, I’m outlining book 4 (which I plan to write during November) and am getting ready for Wizard World Oklahoma City October 27th-29th! You can get 20% off your tickets by using the code REDDOG at check out.

This is probably going to be my last live event of the year. Hope to see you there!

A special offer (The Ace of Clubs)!

I’ve just sent out ebook copies of The Ace of Clubs: Part 3 of the Red Dog Conspiracy to those people who early-bird pre-ordered the ebook copy and forwarded me their receipt.

Wow! It’s a crazy feeling, knowing my book is already out there :)

But what if you missed that? Don’t worry – I have a special offer for you.

If you pre-order the ebook copy of The Ace of Clubs and forward the receipt to patty AT pattyloof DOT com before September 30th, I’ll send you the first two books:

  • The Jacq of Spades
  • The Queen of Diamonds

in the ebook format of your choice … for free!

Here are the places to pre-order The Ace of Clubs

You’ll receive the first two ebooks during the first week of October – IF you pre-order AND forward me that receipt.

Thanks so much for your support!

More genealogy!

I’ve updated The Alcatraz Coup‘s back matter with several genealogy charts, including the one I showed you a couple of weeks ago! So I thought I better share them with you here too. :)

These show how the characters in The Alcatraz Coup are related to those in the Red Dog Conspiracy series. If you’re a hobbit lover of genealogies like me, you’ll find these a lot of fun.

Since these have spoilers for The Alcatraz Coup, I’ll link to the charts rather than display them here.

Uncle Vinny and little Donna

Blocker Goolsby and Caesar Diamond

Charlie and Crispin

If you purchased The Alcatraz Coup as an ebook, simply refresh/sync the file, and you should be able to see the charts in the backmatter (after the story). If you purchased The Alcatraz Coup as a paperback, you’re welcome to print the charts or save them to your computer to look at later.

I hope you enjoy them!

A bit of genealogy!

I got The Ace of Clubs to my ARC team and my proofreader, so I decided to play around a bit and show you the genealogy link between the characters of The Alcatraz Coup, leading up to The Jacq of Spades. I guess I have a bit of hobbit in me, as I love genealogies (as well as eating lol)

Roy’s father Acevedo Spadros II is now just a portrait on the wall, having been gunned down by his men long before the night Jacqui was sold to the Spadros Family. But I thought those of you who’ve read The Alcatraz Coup might like to see the connection between then and now.

I’ll have more charts for you as time goes on, showing Uncle Vinny’s descendants as well as little Donna’s. It might surprise you.

Since this chart contains spoilers for The Alcatraz Coup, I’ll just attach it here for you.

PS. Patrons got to see this a day early! :)

PPS. Patrons also got a copy of The Alcatraz Coup for free. If you’d rather buy a copy, you can get it here.

Update on The Ace of Clubs!

The Ace of Clubs: Part 3 of the Red Dog Conspiracy is back from my developmental editor!

Now all I have to do is incorporate the changes he asked for to get it ready to go to my beta readers July 1st. :)

Congratulations to Claudia B. and Lemka T for being added to my beta reader team!

Thanks SO much to everyone who applied – I truly appreciate your interest in my book series and your willingness to help.

Thrilling news!

Dark Humanity cover image

I’ve got some thrilling news for you!

Apparently Amazon has offered to do a special promotion on the Dark Humanity science fiction and fantasy box set that I’ve been part of since January. This is an amazing opportunity not only for the box set, but for the Red Dog Conspiracy series itself.

So Dark Humanity isn’t going away! We’re looking at being able to continue having it available for sale at the very least through August. Which is very exciting.

This is the set which helped me get to become a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author – and it’s all because of your support.

What this means for The Alcatraz Coup is that for the time of the promotion (and the next three months after), I’ll have to remove the ebook format, except for the copy in the Dark Humanity box set.

On Saturday, I’m headed to Dallas to attend Texas Frightmare – just for fun!

Have a great weekend!

Collecting the cards – March 2016

Well, we’ve come to the end of another month! It’s been a while since I’ve been “collecting the cards”, so to speak, so let’s do it now. Here’s what’s gone on this month that you might not know about:

  • I went to the Dark Side of the Con show in New Jersey and met a lot of great people. I sold more custom flash drives at this show than at any other so far!
  • I got three new Patrons over on Patreon this month! Which is amazing to me! I’m really grateful for your support.
  • Speaking of Patreon, I’ve decided to do more of my posting over there, and I have a lot more free/public posts than I did before, including this one about the Chicago Mob. You can sign up for Patreon for free, and it’s free to follow the Red Dog Conspiracy. You should come join us!
  • There’s about one more month to go if you’d like to buy the second edition of Dark Humanity. It has the prequel to the Red Dog Conspiracy in it, The Alcatraz Coup. You can get Dark Humanity here.
  • The paperback edition of The Alcatraz Coup is coming soon! I can’t wait to show you the new cover.

Hope you have a great weekend!

The Ace of Clubs is on pre-order!

You can pre-order The Ace of Clubs: Part 2 of the Red Dog Conspiracy now!

Click here for all the current links.

Plus, The Queen of Diamonds is on sale now in ebook form through March 5th for just 99 cents.

So now what?

I’ve got to get finished revising The Ace of Clubs! That will be the majority of what I do as far as writing goes between now and October, although I do want to finish up some other projects this year.

In other news:

There’s a sale on Dark Humanity (the science fiction and fantasy box set with The Alcatraz Coup in it) – 99 cents for the entire 20+ books through March 12th. Go grab it if you haven’t already!

I’ll be at the Underground Monster Carnival at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds on Saturday. Hope to see some of you there!

Being on the NY Times best seller list

You might have heard by now that the first edition of the science fiction and fantasy box set Dark Humanity (which contained The Jacq of Spades) hit both the USA Today and NY Times best seller lists!

So what does that mean? It means that I can say I’m a NYT and USAT best selling author! Woo hoo! If that helps someone be more likely to buy my books, it’s been well worth it.

In practical terms, it means that myself and the 21 other authors in the box set have spent a boatload of money on advertising, which we won’t see a dime from until probably April. And is being split 22 ways.

So not instant millionaire status, but good! I’ll keep you updated on what else happens. :)

The second edition of Dark Humanity is on Kindle Unlimited, and contains the debut of my military SF prequel to The Jacq of Spades, called The Alcatraz Coup.

Here’s a blurb:

How far would you go to save your city from a madman?

Fifteen hundred years after the Catastrophe, Inventor Benjamin Kerr built the domed neo-Edwardian city-state of Bridges in the center of the former U.S. Three hundred years later, Bridges is in trouble. King Taylor Kerr is elderly, the economy is struggling, and corruption is rampant.

Forty years ago, a fence was built outside of the “Pot of Gold” — the city proper — to keep out the growing numbers of homeless. This number has increased to over a hundred thousand, whole generations knowing nothing else but life in the tent camps.

Acevedo Spadros is a high school Bridges history teacher. His former student Xavier Alcatraz is head of the Guard. When King Taylor is assassinated by his son Polansky Kerr, who then plans to slaughter everyone outside the fence, Acevedo and Xavier plan the unthinkable: to bring down the Mad King.

I hope you’ll go over to Amazon and pick up a copy of The Alcatraz Coup as part of the Dark Humanity box set. Who knows? Maybe it’ll become a NY Times best seller, too!

Or, if you’d like to get just The Alcatraz Coup for free in exchange for posting a review, there are a few spots left – click here to apply!
