Rocket is a black pit bull terrier who has been bred and trained as a bomb-sniffing dog!
Rocket lives at Spadros Manor and is thought to be the best bomb-sniffing dog in the city of Bridges. He seems to be particularly good at alerting people to the presence of gunpowder residue after a gun has been fired. Jacqui tells us:
[Rocket] could smell when you had fired a gun hours before, and would bark.
Which almost gets Jacqui into trouble later on …
There are all
sorts of legends about the relationship that the Victorians had with
their pit bulls – using them for everything from security to
babysitting. It’s unclear how much of this is true. I’ve only met one
pit bull and she was a real sweetheart.
In any case, Rocket is a
good dog and an important member of the Spadros Family, because he
protects the entire estate from anyone who might want to send a bomb …
although the outside of Spadros Manor can withstand a bomb blast, it’s
unclear about the inside.
So everyone is glad Rocket is around, and he works for the Family every day of the year.
