The Newspapers of Bridges

Here are the newspapers in the city of Bridges:

  1. The Bridges Daily — your typical newspaper in a city controlled by four crime families. The Bridges Daily publishes news that doesn’t make the Four Families look bad, fluffy feel-good stories, the latest in ladies’ fashion, and advertisements for religious tent meetings. The editor is paid off, as are most of the photographers and reporters … except for at least one, although bucking the Families tends to get you shot.
  2. Golden Bridges — a roaring tabloid, where actual journalism meets wicked humor. Their byline is “Fuck the fairy tales, get the Real Story”. As you can expect, no decent person would be seen reading such trash, yet several thousand copies are somehow sold every day. The Four Families have tried at one time or the other to find the hideout of these scoundrels, but they have managed to elude the most persistent of hit men, moving their printing presses in the dead of night at least a dozen times over the last decade or so. Several Family members have associates secretly purchase a copy for them, if only to keep up to date on what’s being said.

Over the years, there have been others, but none with the tenacity of these two.
